šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Cloud Data Engineer - E-commerce Analytics at Wayfair, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure to drive business insights and decision-making. Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a robust data pipeline, ensuring seamless integration with our e-commerce platform. Your work will have a direct impact on Wayfair's continued growth and success.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze and improve data processing workflows to increase efficiency and data quality.
Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Apache Beam, Apache Spark, and Apache Kafka.
Collaborate with data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models.
Develop and maintain a robust data catalog using tools like Apache Atlas and AWS Glue.
Ensure data security, compliance, and governance through proper implementation of data encryption, access controls, and auditing.
Work closely with the data engineering team to design and implement data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in cloud data engineering and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on cloud-based infrastructure.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of data processing frameworks like Apache Beam, Apache Spark, and Apache Kafka.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Tableau.
ā PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with streaming data processing using Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Apache Storm.
Certification in data engineering, cloud computing, or related fields.
Experience with collaborative development tools like Git, Jenkins, and CircleCI.

We offer a competitive salary range of £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
