🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Wayfair, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with our technology teams to design, build, and deploy scalable and secure cloud-based solutions that support our rapidly growing e-commerce platform. You will report to our Director of Cloud Engineering and will have a significant impact on the development of our cloud strategy. Your expertise will help us drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce costs.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and implement cloud-based architectures for our e-commerce platform using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure requirements and develop roadmaps for implementation.

- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for all cloud deployments, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.

- Work with our DevOps team to implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines for cloud-based applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide expert advice to development teams.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and advise on the adoption of new tools and services.

- Develop and maintain relationships with cloud vendors to negotiate contracts and resolve issues.

- Collaborate with our security team to ensure that all cloud deployments meet our security and compliance requirements.

- Work with our engineering teams to ensure that all cloud-based applications meet our performance and reliability standards.

- Develop and maintain metrics dashboards to monitor cloud resource utilization and performance.

- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for our cloud infrastructure.

- Collaborate with our data team to ensure that all cloud-based applications meet our data management and governance requirements.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud-based architectures.

- Proven expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a solid understanding of cloud security, data management, and compliance.

- Experience with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or container orchestration tools like Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes.

- Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.

- Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.

- Strong understanding of cloud-based security, data management, and compliance best practices.

- Experience with cloud-based monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.

- Experience with cloud-based data integration and analytics tools like Apache Beam or AWS Glue.

- Experience with cloud-based security tools like Cloudflare or AWS Inspector.

- Professional certification in cloud computing, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Certified Solutions Architect.

- Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

💰 WHAT WE OFFER

We offer a competitive salary range of £50,000 - £80,000 per year, plus a generous benefits package including private health insurance, a pension scheme, and 25 days of annual leave.
