šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Automattic, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale cloud infrastructure solutions that support our e-commerce platforms. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to architect and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available systems that meet the needs of our customers and partners. You'll report directly to our Director of Cloud Infrastructure and work closely with our DevOps and SRE teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of our cloud-based services. Your work will have a direct impact on the scalability, reliability, and performance of our e-commerce platforms, making a significant contribution to our business growth and success.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement large-scale cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Collaborate with engineering teams to architect and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available systems
- Identify and mitigate potential infrastructure security risks and vulnerabilities
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure documentation and knowledge base
- Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud-based services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement infrastructure improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships with cloud providers and vendors to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with cloud security and regulatory requirements
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for cloud infrastructure issues
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud infrastructure and cloud computing
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement best practices for cloud infrastructure management
- Continuously evaluate and improve cloud infrastructure performance, scalability, and security
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture and design
- In-depth knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
- Experience with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration tools
- Proficiency in cloud security and regulatory requirements
- Experience with cloud infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Strong understanding of cloud scalability, reliability, and performance
- Experience with DevOps and SRE practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in a remote team environment
- Experience with cloud migration and cloud cost optimization
- Experience with cloud monitoring and incident response

We offer a competitive salary range of Ā£50,000 to Ā£80,000 per annum, based on experience.
