π― ROLE OVERVIEW
The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of Kroger's cloud infrastructure, enabling data-driven retail operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure, this specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions that support business growth and customer satisfaction. This role will focus on ensuring the high availability and performance of cloud resources, as well as adhering to industry best practices for cloud security and compliance.
π KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to support data-driven retail operations.
Collaborate with IT, business, and operations teams to identify infrastructure requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, infrastructure as code (IaC) templates, and cloud resource configurations.
Implement and manage cloud security and compliance controls to ensure adherence to Kroger's information security policies and industry regulations.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, scalability, and costs to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Develop and maintain relationships with cloud service providers and vendors to ensure optimal pricing and service levels.
Staying up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, and advising the IT organization on the potential benefits and risks of adopting new cloud solutions.
Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure consistent infrastructure management across on-premises and cloud environments.
Develop and deliver training and documentation to other teams on cloud infrastructure best practices and tools.
β REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture, design, and engineering.
Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance controls, including identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, business, and operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
β PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Certifications in cloud computing (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect).
