šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
We're seeking a talented Cloud Native Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team in the UK. As a Cloud Native Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining a cutting-edge cloud-based data platform that enables data-driven decision making across the organisation. You will report to our Senior Data Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Your work will have a significant impact on our ability to deliver data-driven insights, drive business growth, and improve customer experiences.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based data pipelines using Cloud Native technologies such as AWS Lambda, Apache Beam, and Apache Kafka.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to develop data products and services that meet business needs and drive data-driven decision making.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance by implementing data governance policies, data validation, and data lineage tracking.
- Work with cloud vendors to stay up-to-date with the latest cloud native technologies and best practices.
- Develop and maintain automated testing and DevOps pipelines to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to design and implement a data catalog and metadata management system.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support for critical production systems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and cloud computing.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to improve skills and knowledge.
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud computing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Native technologies, data engineering principles, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, Apache Beam, Apache Kafka, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
- Experience with agile development methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
ā PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Apache Flink, Apache Spark, or other big data processing frameworks.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
- Experience with cloud-based data storage solutions such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage.
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with data catalog and metadata management systems.

We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
