šŸŽÆ ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Cloud Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the technical operations of Buffer's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of uptime and performance for our users. You'll work closely with our DevOps team to implement new technologies and processes, and collaborate with our engineering team to drive the development of our platform. You'll report directly to our Head of Engineering, and your work will have a direct impact on the success of our business.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure architectures using AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

- Collaborate with the DevOps team to develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.

- Develop and implement monitoring and logging strategies to ensure the health and performance of our infrastructure.

- Work with the engineering team to design and implement new features and services that take advantage of cloud native technologies.

- Collaborate with the security team to ensure the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure.

- Develop and maintain our cloud infrastructure documentation and knowledge base.

- Collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.

- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of infrastructure issues.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement automation scripts using tools like Python and Ansible.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations and management.

- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure architectures and cloud native technologies.

- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPCs.

- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.

- Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements for cloud infrastructure.

- Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

- Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and Azure Functions.

- Experience with cloud security tools like AWS IAM and Azure Active Directory.

- Experience with Agile development methodologies.

- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
