🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Cloud Solutions Architect — Digital Retail E-commerce at Wayfair, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures to support our rapidly growing e-commerce platform. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with our existing infrastructure and applications. This role will require you to stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices, as well as maintain a deep understanding of our business needs and requirements.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement cloud-based architectures for our e-commerce platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

• Collaborate with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure and applications.

• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design plans, implementation guides, and operational procedures.

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate potential threats.

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our business needs and requirements, staying up-to-date with the latest e-commerce trends and technologies.

• Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support for critical issues.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices, sharing knowledge and expertise with the team.

• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, leveraging cloud economics and optimization techniques.

• Collaborate with our DevOps team to develop and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our cloud provider's (AWS) features and services, staying up-to-date with the latest announcements and updates.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with a focus on e-commerce platforms.

• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), their features, and services.

• Strong understanding of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), orchestration, and service mesh.

• Experience with cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR).

• Strong understanding of database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Cloud Solutions Architect (CCSA) or Certified Solutions Architect (CSA) certification.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and serverless computing.

• Experience with cloud cost optimization and management tools (Cloudability, ParkMyCloud).

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring.

As a Cloud Solutions Architect — Digital Retail E-commerce at Wayfair, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary, including a base salary range of £50,000 - £80,000.
