šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
As our new Digital Accessibility Specialist ā E-commerce Solutions, you will play a key role in ensuring that our online platforms and services are accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. Reporting directly to our Head of Digital Accessibility, you will be responsible for conducting accessibility audits, implementing accessibility standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create inclusive digital experiences. Your expertise will help us reach a wider audience and improve the overall user experience.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits on our e-commerce platforms, websites, and mobile applications, identifying areas for improvement.
Collaborate with our development teams to implement accessibility standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 and the Equality Act 2010.
Develop and maintain accessibility testing protocols, including manual and automated testing methods.
Work closely with content creation teams to ensure that digital content is accessible and usable for all users.
Provide training and support to our teams on accessibility best practices and digital inclusion.
Develop and maintain relationships with external accessibility experts and vendors to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in digital accessibility, preferably in the e-commerce or financial services industry.
Proven track record of improving website and mobile application accessibility, with successful implementation of accessibility standards.
In-depth knowledge of web accessibility guidelines, including WCAG 2.1 and the Equality Act 2010.
Strong technical skills, including experience with accessibility testing tools, such as WAVE or Lighthouse.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ā PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification in digital accessibility, such as the W3C Web Accessibility Certification.
Experience with accessibility-focused content management systems, such as WordPress or Drupal.
Strong understanding of inclusive design principles and user experience (UX) best practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
š° WHAT WE OFFER
We are offering a competitive salary range of £50,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous vacation time. As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, while still being part of a dynamic and supportive team. We also offer a £1,000 annual learning and development budget, to help you grow and develop your skills.
