šŸŽÆ ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Digital Content Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our content ecosystem. You will report to the Senior Manager of Digital Content Operations and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Content Monetization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement strategies to optimize content upload, processing, and delivery, with a focus on improving efficiency, reducing latency, and enhancing user experience. Your work will have a significant impact on the success of our content business, making it easier for creators to reach their audiences and for viewers to discover new content.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of YouTube's content pipeline, including upload, processing, and delivery workflows.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements, including automation and optimization of content workflows.

• Analyze data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement, and develop data-driven recommendations to optimize content operations.

• Work with Engineering teams to implement technical solutions to improve content processing and delivery, including infrastructure upgrades and API integrations.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including creators, rights holders, and industry partners.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and make recommendations for how to leverage these to improve content operations.

• Collaborate with Content Monetization teams to develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and improve creator experience.

• Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for content operations processes and procedures.

• Participate in regular meetings and calls with cross-functional teams to discuss progress and goals.

• Identify and escalate potential risks and issues to Senior Management.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in digital content operations, media, or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Strong technical skills, including experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Kubernetes), and DevOps tools.

• Experience with data analysis and metrics, including Google Analytics and SQL.

• Strong communication and project management skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Experience with video content platforms, including YouTube, is a plus.

• Familiarity with industry trends and developments, including 4K and 8K video, HDR, and streaming.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience with machine learning and AI technologies, including TensorFlow and PyTorch.

• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.

• Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools, including Tableau and Power BI.

• Knowledge of video encoding and transcoding technologies, including H.264 and H.265.
