šÆ Role Overview
As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager at Safeway's Mexico office, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy that aligns with the company's overall mission and vision. You will work closely with the executive team, department heads, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of inclusion and equity throughout the organization. Your ultimate goal will be to create a workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute to the company's success.
š Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies that align with the company's overall mission and vision.
- Conduct thorough analyses of organizational policies, procedures, and practices to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to create and execute training programs designed to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaborations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to measure the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase employee engagement, retention, and recruitment.
- Provide recommendations to improve diversity and inclusion practices throughout the organization.
- Develop and manage budgets for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement company-wide diversity and inclusion policies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive diversity and inclusion report to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads and employees on diversity and inclusion matters.
- Develop and implement strategies to address unconscious bias and microaggressions.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase supplier diversity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement diversity and inclusion policies and procedures.
ā Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in diversity and inclusion, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration, Human Resources, or Diversity and Inclusion Studies.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful diversity and inclusion strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and developing strategic initiatives.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
ā Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration or Diversity and Inclusion Studies.
- Experience working in the retail or grocery industry.
- Certification in diversity and inclusion, such as CDEI or CDI.
- Experience working with diversity and inclusion metrics and benchmarks.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and diversity and inclusion software.
