As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of our data across the organization. Reporting directly to the Data Management Director, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards. Your expertise will help us to effectively manage our data assets, mitigate risks, and drive business growth.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Data Governance Specialist, your specific responsibilities will include:

Designing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, quality, and security.

Collaborating with data stakeholders to develop data standards, data dictionaries, and metadata management plans.

Developing and maintaining data governance metrics and reporting dashboards to track key performance indicators.

Conducting data quality audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.

Providing training and support to business users on data governance best practices and procedures.

Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to data governance.

Communicating data governance initiatives and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

Proven expertise in data governance frameworks, such as ISO 38500 or COBIT.

Experience with data quality tools, such as Informatica PowerCenter or Talend.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications, such as Certified Data Governance Professional (CDGP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are highly desirable.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

While not required, the following skills and qualifications would be highly beneficial:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
