🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Cloud Migration Specialist with Airbnb, you will be responsible for leading the migration of our complex cloud infrastructure to a new cloud provider, ensuring seamless continuity of service and minimal downtime. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and product management, to identify and prioritize migration requirements and develop a comprehensive migration strategy. Your expertise will be invaluable in selecting and implementing the right cloud migration tools and technologies, and in ensuring that our cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of scalability, reliability, and security.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the migration of Airbnb's cloud infrastructure to a new cloud provider, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless continuity of service.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize migration requirements and develop a comprehensive migration strategy.

- Select and implement the right cloud migration tools and technologies, including automation and orchestration tools.

- Ensure that our cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of scalability, reliability, and security, and that our migration meets industry best practices.

- Work closely with our engineering team to design and implement new cloud-based features and services.

- Develop and maintain detailed migration plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

- Provide technical guidance and support to our operations and product management teams during the migration process.

- Develop and maintain documentation of our cloud infrastructure, including architecture diagrams and technical documentation.

- Collaborate with our security team to ensure that our cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of security and compliance.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- At least 8 years of experience in cloud migration, with a strong background in cloud infrastructure and architecture.

- Proven experience with cloud migration tools and technologies, including automation and orchestration tools.

- Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and industry standards, including PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.

- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, and C++.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with cloud-based data storage and analytics platforms, such as AWS S3 and Redshift.

- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.

- Experience with cloud-based security tools, such as cloud security gateways and cloud-based threat detection.

- Strong knowledge of cloud-based compliance and regulatory requirements, including PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
