🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Global Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring UPMC's digital products and services are accessible to people of all abilities. Reporting to the Director of Digital Inclusion, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility standards, provide training, and conduct accessibility audits. Your impact will be felt throughout the organization as you contribute to creating a more inclusive digital environment.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain accessibility standards for UPMC's digital products and services.

Conduct regular accessibility audits to identify and remediate accessibility barriers.

Provide training and guidance to developers, designers, and other stakeholders on accessibility best practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate accessibility into the design and development process.

Identify and recommend new accessibility tools and technologies to improve the accessibility of UPMC's digital offerings.

Stay up-to-date with emerging accessibility trends and standards to ensure UPMC remains at the forefront of digital inclusion.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in digital accessibility, preferably in a healthcare or financial services industry.

Proven expertise in accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.

Experience with accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, Lighthouse, or axe.

Strong communication and training skills to effectively engage with developers, designers, and other stakeholders.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certification in digital accessibility, such as an Accessibility Specialist (AS) or Certified Accessible Experience (CAE).

Experience with accessibility frameworks like ARIA or WAI-ARIA.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.

💰 WHAT WE OFFER

Competitive salary range: €55,000 - €80,000 per annum.
