🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Global Enterprise Software Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of USAA's global software applications and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will be responsible for leading and implementing software security initiatives, working closely with development teams, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes. Your expertise will be instrumental in protecting USAA's digital assets, data, and customer information from evolving cyber threats.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement software security strategies and policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

Conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate software security risks.

Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and test secure software solutions.

Provide secure coding training and guidance to developers, promoting secure coding practices and secure design principles.

Work with IT operations teams to implement and maintain secure software configurations, patch management, and incident response processes.

Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including security standards, guidelines, and procedures.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of experience in software security, with a focus on enterprise software security, secure coding, and secure design.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Proficiency in secure coding languages, such as C, C++, Java, and Python.

In-depth knowledge of secure software development methodologies, secure coding practices, and secure design principles.

Certifications in software security, such as OWASP Secure Coding or GIAC Secure Coding.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

3+ years of experience in leading software security initiatives, with a focus on secure coding and secure design.

Certifications in management or leadership, such as MBA or PMP.

Experience working with DevSecOps, DevOps, and Agile development methodologies.

Our team has recently completed several successful projects, including the implementation of secure coding training programs and the development of comprehensive security documentation.
