🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Global Payments Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of digital payments at American Express. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain complex payment infrastructure systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and adherence to industry standards. You will report to a Senior Manager in our Payments Engineering team and will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and drive customer satisfaction. Your work will have a significant impact on the company's digital transformation journey, enabling us to provide faster, more secure, and more convenient payment experiences for our customers.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop complex payment infrastructure systems, including payment gateways, payment processors, and card management systems.

Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and other system interfaces to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and technical specifications for payment infrastructure systems.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in payment infrastructure systems, working with development teams and other stakeholders as needed.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in payment infrastructure development, with a focus on digital payments and card management systems.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Strong knowledge of payment industry standards, regulations, and trends, including PCI-DSS, EMV, and tokenization.

Proficiency in programming languages, including Java, Python, and C++.

Experience with payment gateways, payment processors, and card management systems, such as Stripe, Braintree, and Worldpay.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience with cloud-based payment infrastructure systems, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Certification in payment industry standards, such as PCI-DSS and EMV.

Knowledge of agile development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.

💰 WHAT WE OFFER

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
