🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Global Risk Management Analyst at American Airlines, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with the airline's global operations. Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizing potential losses. Your expertise will help shape the airline's risk management framework, enabling the company to make informed decisions and drive business growth.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Identify and assess risks associated with global operations, including geopolitical, regulatory, and market-related risks

- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks, utilizing industry-standard tools and methodologies

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and compliance, to ensure effective risk management practices

- Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvement to the Director of Risk Management

- Develop and maintain risk register to track and report on key risks

- Provide risk-related training and support to internal stakeholders

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

- Analyze and report on risk-related data and metrics to inform business decisions

- Develop and implement risk management reporting frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability

- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and cost savings

- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and external partners

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in risk management, preferably in the aviation or travel industry

- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as risk management, finance, or business administration

- Professional certifications, such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), highly desired

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

- Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and tools

- Experience with risk management software and systems

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in a related field

- 7+ years of experience in risk management or a related field

- Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) certification

- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI

- Familiarity with air travel regulations and industry standards
