Global Sourcing Specialist - Retail Operations

🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Global Sourcing Specialist in our Retail Operations team, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality products from international suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining strong relationships with our global network. You will work closely with the buying team to develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand. Reporting to the Director of Retail Operations, you will contribute to the development of our global sourcing strategy and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Source high-quality products from international suppliers, ensuring they meet our quality and safety standards

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and delivery terms

* Collaborate with the buying team to develop and implement sourcing strategies, ensuring they align with our global strategy

* Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand, working closely with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries

* Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings

* Analyze and report on supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary

* Develop and maintain accurate records of supplier information, including contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules

* Work with the finance team to monitor and manage supplier payments and credits

* Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, such as food safety and product liability

* Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement processes and systems to improve supplier performance and reduce costs

* Travel internationally to meet with suppliers, assess product quality, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms

* Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement new technologies and processes to improve supplier performance and reduce costs

* Develop and maintain effective communication with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution

* Analyze and report on data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth

* Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, such as food safety and product liability

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field

* 5+ years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management

* Strong knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and logistics

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines

* Experience working with suppliers in Asia, particularly in the food industry

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex data and identify trends

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

* Experience working in a similar role in a global retail environment

* Fluency in English and a second language, particularly Spanish or Mandarin

* Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP or Oracle

* Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or HACCP

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

* 7+ years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management

* Experience working in a similar role in a global retail environment

* Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications in procurement and supply chain management

* Certification in supply chain management, such as CSCP or CPSM

* Experience with data analytics tools, such as Tableau or Power BI

* Knowledge of sustainability and social responsibility principles, particularly in the food industry

* Experience working in a global team environment, with multiple stakeholders and cultures
