šŸŽÆ ROLE OVERVIEW

As a key member of our engineering team, the Head of Distributed Systems Engineering will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of our distributed systems infrastructure. This includes our cloud-based architecture, containerization, and microservices. You will work closely with our product management team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also lead a team of engineers to achieve these goals and collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

. Design and implement scalable and highly available distributed systems architecture.

. Lead a team of engineers to develop, test, and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and applications.

. Collaborate with product management to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

. Ensure adherence to industry best practices and compliance with security and regulatory standards.

. Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials for engineers.

. Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.

. Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends and propose innovative solutions.

. Develop and manage the team's technical vision and strategy.

. Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and communicate with stakeholders.

. Ensure that all engineering activities are aligned with company goals and objectives.

. Lead the team in planning, prioritization, and execution of projects.

. Coach and mentor engineers to improve their skills and knowledge.

. Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and experimentation.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

. 10+ years of experience in distributed systems engineering, cloud architecture, and infrastructure design.

. 5+ years of experience in leadership or management roles.

. Strong technical skills in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization (Docker), and microservices.

. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

. Strong understanding of industry best practices and compliance with security and regulatory standards.

. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

. Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems (Git).

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

. Experience with Kubernetes, service mesh, and API gateways.

. Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.

. Experience with cloud-based CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

. Strong understanding of DevOps practices and principles.

. Experience with container orchestration and management tools.

. Strong knowledge of network protocols and security.
