🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Head of Data Operations and Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, driving business growth, and informing key decision-making processes. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers in delivering high-quality data products and services that meet the evolving needs of our organization. Your expertise in data operations, analytics, and strategic planning will drive business outcomes, improve customer experiences, and enhance our overall operational efficiency.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a data strategy that aligns with MTA's business objectives and priorities.

• Lead the design and development of data platforms, architectures, and tools to support business growth and data-driven decision-making.

• Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of large datasets to inform business strategies, optimize operations, and improve customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, develop data-driven solutions, and measure their impact.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, data analysts, and external partners.

• Develop and manage a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data operations and analytics.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality data products and services that meet stakeholder expectations and MTA's data governance standards.

• Develop and manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to support data operations and analytics initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings through data analysis and optimization.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of experience in data operations, analytics, and strategic planning, preferably in a transportation or public sector context.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred.

• Advanced knowledge of data management systems, data warehousing, and big data technologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

• Proven experience in leading high-performing teams, developing talent, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business needs, develop data-driven solutions, and measure their impact.

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality metrics, and data security best practices.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines and priorities.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certification in data science, data engineering, or a related field (e.g., Certified Data Scientist, Certified Data Engineer).

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.

• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics techniques.

• Experience with data integration, data quality, and data validation tools.

💰 WHAT WE OFFER

As a Head of Data Operations and Analytics at MTA, you will receive a competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
