As a Remote Data Governance Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Kroger's data management practices align with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Working closely with the Data Governance team, you will develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role will report directly to the Data Governance Manager and will have a significant impact on the company's ability to maintain data quality and integrity.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards

- Conduct regular data quality assessments and develop recommendations for improvement

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate data-related risks

- Provide training and support to employees on data governance best practices and procedures

- Develop and execute data management plans to ensure data quality and integrity

- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement

- Develop and implement data governance metrics and monitoring tools

- Collaborate with the Data Governance team to develop and implement data governance strategies

- Provide regular reports to the Data Governance Manager on data governance progress and compliance status

- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and updates to ensure data governance practices remain compliant

- Conduct data mapping and data lineage to identify potential data risks and vulnerabilities

- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures for data backup and recovery

- Collaborate with the IT department to develop and implement data governance procedures for data security and access control

- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures for data analytics and reporting

- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to develop and implement data governance procedures for data analytics and reporting

- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures for data archiving and disposition

- Collaborate with the Records Management team to develop and implement data governance procedures for data archiving and disposition

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in data governance and compliance

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field

- Certification in data governance or compliance (e.g. CDGP, CDP, CISM)

- Strong understanding of data governance principles and industry standards

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

- Strong project management and organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g. Collibra, Alation)

- Experience with data quality and data validation tools (e.g. Talend, Informatica)

- Experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA)

- Certification in data science or analytics (e.g. Certified Data Scientist, Certified Analytics Professional)

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
