🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Remote Senior Data Security Specialist for our Nigerian operations, you will be responsible for leading our data security efforts, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our sensitive information. You will report to our IT Director and work closely with our global security team to maintain the highest standards of data protection. Your expertise will play a critical role in shaping our data security strategy, implementing controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement data security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.

• Collaborate with the global security team to design and implement data protection controls, such as encryption, access controls, and data backups.

• Design and implement security training programs for employees to ensure data security awareness and best practices.

• Conduct incident response and remediation efforts in the event of data breaches or security incidents.

• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration and deployment of network devices and applications.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies, and provide recommendations for implementing new security controls and procedures.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry peers, to stay informed about data security best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Provide support and guidance to employees on data security-related matters and serve as a subject matter expert.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in data security, with a focus on compliance, risk assessment, and incident response.

• Proven track record of implementing data security policies and procedures that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Strong understanding of data security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.

• Experience with security auditing and risk assessment tools, such as Nmap, Nessus, and OpenVAS.

• Familiarity with data security standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field.

• Experience with cloud-based security solutions, such as AWS IAM, Azure AD, or Google Cloud IAM.

• Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.

• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, such as Splunk or ELK.

• Strong knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP and DNS.

💰 WHAT WE OFFER

We offer a competitive salary range of NGN 500,000 - NGN 800,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
