šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Risk Management Specialist for International Transactions, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with international transactions on behalf of American Express's customers. You will report to the Manager of Risk Management and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective management of risk across the organization. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's financial performance and reputation, and will contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement risk management strategies for international transactions, including cashless transactions, traveler's checks, and online transactions. Identify and assess potential risks, such as currency fluctuations, exchange rate risk, and country-specific risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure that risk management strategies are aligned with business objectives. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors. Provide training and guidance to colleagues on risk management best practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and recommend changes to risk management strategies as needed. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track risk management metrics and key performance indicators.
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of experience in risk management, with a focus on international transactions. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration. Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies, including cashless transactions, traveler's checks, and online transactions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess complex risks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with risk management software and tools, such as IBM i2 or SAS.
ā PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration. Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on risk management. Familiarity with industry trends and developments, including emerging risks and technologies.
