As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data management strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Director of Data Governance, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Analytics, and Compliance, to design, implement, and maintain our data governance framework. Your expertise will help drive business decisions, mitigate risks, and optimize data-driven insights.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement a robust data governance framework, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Develop and maintain data policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).

Collaborate with data stakeholders to identify data quality issues, implement data remediation plans, and optimize data processes.

Create and manage data catalogs, metadata, and data lineage to ensure data transparency and accountability.

Develop and deliver training programs for data governance, data quality, and data protection to our data teams.

Implement data access controls, data encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

Conduct regular data audits to ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.

Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to optimize data management and reduce costs.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including data teams, business leaders, and regulatory bodies.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Proven experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks, data policies, and standards.

Expertise in data quality, data protection, and data security, including GDPR and other regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in data management tools, such as data catalogs, metadata management, and data lineage analysis.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills, with experience in training and stakeholder engagement.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure.

Certification in data governance, data management, or a related field (e.g., CDP, CDMP).

Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, and data integration.

Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
