🎯 ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Data Protection Officer for E-commerce Platforms, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of our online stores. You will report directly to our Chief Information Security Officer and will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring data protection policies, procedures, and security measures to protect sensitive customer and employee data. Your expertise will have a direct impact on maintaining customer trust and loyalty, as well as ensuring our business remains compliant with evolving data protection regulations.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

. Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). . Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions to mitigate them. . Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Marketing, and Customer Service, to ensure data protection best practices are integrated into all business processes. . Design and implement data protection training programs for employees to educate them on data handling, storage, and protection. . Investigate and respond to data breaches, notifying relevant stakeholders and implementing containment and remediation strategies. . Stay up-to-date with emerging data protection trends, technologies, and regulations, and provide recommendations for their integration into our data protection strategy. . Work closely with our Compliance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of data protection compliance.

✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

. 10+ years of experience in data protection, compliance, or a related field. . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field. . Certifications in data protection, such as CISSP, CISM, or CIPP/E. . Proven experience with data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. . Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. . Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

. Master's degree in a related field. . Experience with cloud-based data protection solutions. . Fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken by our customer base. . Certifications in cloud security, such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty.

At Ross Stores, we offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
