šŸŽÆ ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Data Protection Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of our data protection policies and procedures. You will report directly to the Head of Compliance and work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including the GDPR and the BDSG. Your goal will be to minimize data protection risks and maintain the trust of our customers.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

. Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures that align with the GDPR, BDSG, and other relevant regulations.

. Provide training to employees on data protection best practices and ensure compliance with data protection policies.

. Conduct regular data protection audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.

. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data protection is integrated into all business processes.

. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including data protection authorities and industry associations.

. Provide expert advice on data protection matters to the management team and other stakeholders.

. Stay up-to-date with changes in data protection regulations and ensure the company's compliance.

. Develop and implement data breach response plans to minimize the impact of data breaches.

. Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure data protection compliance in all business areas.

. Develop and maintain data protection policies and procedures for business partners and vendors.

. Ensure data protection is integrated into all business processes and ensure data protection is a key consideration in all business decisions.

. Develop and maintain data protection metrics and reports to measure compliance.

. Identify and report any data protection risks and vulnerabilities to the management team.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

. 8+ years of experience in data protection, including experience in compliance with GDPR and BDSG.

. Master's degree in law, computer science, or a related field.

. Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR, BDSG, and other relevant laws.

. Experience with data protection certifications, such as CIPP/E or CIPP/US.

. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate data protection risks.

. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

. Experience with data protection tools and technologies, including data loss prevention and encryption.

. Experience with data protection metrics and reporting.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

. Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.

. Experience with data protection compliance in a multinational environment.

. Certification in information security, such as CISSP or CISM.

. Experience with data protection awareness training.

. Fluency in German and English.
