šŸŽÆ ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Global Payments Risk Manager — Compliance and Regulatory, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of PayPal's payment systems and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with payments, develop and implement risk management strategies, and provide expert guidance on regulatory matters. You will report to the Head of Global Payments Risk Management and will be responsible for ensuring that PayPal's payment systems are secure, reliable, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

šŸ“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate payment-related risks, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) risks.

Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product, technology, and compliance teams, to ensure that payments systems are secure and compliant.

Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and emerging risks in the payments industry.

Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay informed about regulatory developments.

Provide expert guidance on regulatory matters and ensure that PayPal's payment systems are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Monitor and report on risks and anomalies in payments systems, including suspicious activity and potential cyber threats.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of payments risk management.

Develop and maintain training programs for employees on payments risk management and regulatory compliance.

āœ… REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, business, or law.

Advanced degree or certifications in a related field, such as an MBA or a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation.

Proven experience in risk management and compliance, including experience with AML and KYC regulations.

Strong knowledge of payments systems, including card payments, online payments, and mobile payments.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

⭐ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.

Experience in the payments industry, particularly in a FinTech company.

Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and emerging risks in the payments industry.

Certifications in a related field, such as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or a Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS).
