šÆ ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Global Supply Chain Optimization Specialist, you will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Costco's global supply chain operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and operations, to identify opportunities for improvement and implement process changes that drive cost savings and improve customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Operations, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing strategic recommendations, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement solutions. Your work will have a direct impact on Costco's bottom line and customer experience.
š KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze global supply chain data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process changes to optimize supply chain operations, resulting in cost savings and improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain complex data models and analytics tools to support supply chain decision-making.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with external partners, including transportation providers and logistics companies, to negotiate contracts and optimize supply chain costs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and digital transformation to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance and track progress.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Develop and maintain supply chain documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop and maintain a network of internal and external supply chain experts to provide strategic guidance and support.
- Collaborate with the supply chain analytics team to develop and implement data-driven decision-making processes.
ā REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or Ph.D.) in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization, including knowledge of statistical software and programming languages (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with supply chain optimization software and tools, including transportation management systems and warehouse management systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to think critically and strategically.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Familiarity with lean and six sigma methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with data visualization and presentation tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Tableau.
- Strong understanding of global supply chain operations, including transportation, logistics, and warehousing.
ā PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with cloud-based supply chain optimization platforms and software.
- Certification in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, CLTD).
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in supply chain operations.
- Experience with process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects, with demonstrated ability to drive results and meet deadlines.
